Understanding Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia, often misunderstood and underestimated, presents a spectrum of symptoms, including widespread pain, fatigue, and mood disturbances. It can make daily life a challenge, affecting everything from physical activities to emotional well-being.

What Is Manual Lymphatic Drainage?

For over 100 years, MLD has been a trusted and effective form of massage therapy. Originating from France in the 1930s by Emil and Estrid Vodder, MLD has stood the test of time and has been used by millions of people worldwide to achieve better health and wellness.

The Healing Touch of MLD

MLD isn't just a massage; it's a gentle journey that stimulates the lymphatic system, helping to alleviate the accumulated stress and toxins often associated with Fibromyalgia. This therapy gently nudges your body back to a state of balance and harmony.

MLD: Beyond Physical Relief

While MLD is renowned for its physical benefits, its impact on mental and emotional health is profound. By fostering relaxation and aiding in detoxification, MLD can also help alleviate the mental fog and mood swings often experienced with Fibromyalgia.

Personalized Care at Philadelphia Lymph & Bodywork

It's important to note that MLD is a gentle form of massage therapy and does not involve the use of deep pressure or painful manipulations. Instead, the therapist will use a light touch to stimulate the lymphatic system, and you may feel a soothing, calming effect.

Every Fibromyalgia journey is unique, and so are our MLD sessions. Tailored to your specific needs, our treatments are more than a service; they're a partnership in your health journey.

How can you expect to feel afterward?

After your first MLD session you can expect to feel light and look smoother and a bit more contoured. Don’t be surprised if you have to pee after, as the massage is literally moving fluid out. Also, since you are moving toxins, be sure to drink a big glass of water before and after to keep yourself properly hydrated and support your lymphatic system.

Depending on the severity, most cases should begin to see results after 1-2 sessions.
